Clay Sculpture Schedule

 
Each level is based on eight sessions
The goal of these classes is to build fundamentals in the sculpture using clay carving. Students will learn how to plan, visualize and build in 3-d and also learn history and terms of the sculpture.
Level 1
Ages 7-12yrs: Mondays 5-6 pm
Ages 13-16yrs: Tuesdays 5-6 pm
Adult: Mondays 6-7 pm
Description
All the basic skills and terms needed to work clay by using form and volume in order to obtain a representational object. The progressive history of man in sculpture will guide the student’s choice of projects. Beginning with primitive art objects such as: simple animals, line relief and human form.
Level 2
Ages 7-12yrs: Thursdays 5-6 pm
Ages 13-16yrs: Fridays 5-6 pm
Adult: Tuesdays 6-7 pm
Description
All the basics learned in level 1 plus exercising the use of visualization by learning to draw in the round. Taking an idea from paper to clay form (2D to 3D). Students will use the sculptural historical time line choose projects that are exampled in Medieval and early Renaissance art.
Level 3
For anyone who has finished Levels 1 and 2
  Thursdays 6-7 pm
Description
Refining our skills founded in the first two levels. Progressing the historical time line to include examples of Sixteenth Century Europe. Students may choose projects reflecting the use of perspective and placement as well as honing our skills in building human form through self portrait.
Portfolio Piece
Creating a bust from drawings, then molding and casting piece in Plaster.
Registration fee: $50.00 each level
Cost: $440.00 per level (8 classes)
